As a Coroner, it is our responsibility to gather information not only about the individual that has passed, but also events leading up to their death. We are responsible for collecting evidence and securing the body of deceased person. The coroner becomes the eyes, ears, and mouth of a decedent, and thus bears a great responsibility in accurately recounting the facts surrounding the final hours of an individual’s life and his or her death. We do our job with a great deal of respect and empathy for the family that has lost a loved one.
